(AAIP) Alberta Advantage Immigration Program is designed to help people get permanent residence in Alberta. This is actually an economic immigration program which was called (AINP) Alberta Immigration Nominee Program, before it got changed to AAIP in February 2022.

Working of AAIP

Any applicant seeking permanent residency through AAIP needs to be eligible in any one of the below mentioned streams and thereafter, apply online for nomination. The nomination received gives 600 points to the applicant to apply for permanent residency.

Brief Description of Programs

Alberta Express Entry Stream – Accelerated Tech Pathway:
Under this stream, an applicant needs 300 points and a permanent job offer from an Alberta employer in order to meet the requirements. Limited qualified candidates are nominated who help in government’s economic development.

This stream also covers the Alberta Accelerated Tech Pathway, under which the processing for candidates who have express entry profiles and are working or have valid job offer in TECH occupation is accelerated. To be noted, the job offer should be from an Alberta-based Tech industry employer.

Rural Entrepreneur Stream:
Candidates intending to start a new or buy an existing business in Rural Alberta Community are nominated. They should be qualified and capable entrepreneurs with 3-4 years of business experience. Additionally, candidates should also have an ECA report with minimum high school level education and language requirement of CLB 4 and higher.

Alberta opportunity Stream:
This stream is specially designed for temporary foreign workers who have a full-time job offer from an Alberta employer. The processing time is usually longer under this stream.

Rural Renewal Stream:
This stream is intended to develop the local economic needs, create job opportunities and aid growth. It is basically designed to welcome newcomers to rural Alberta. Applicants should possess an EDO approved job offer and a work experience of a year in past 18 months.

Alberta Graduate Entrepreneur Stream:
To qualify for this stream foreign graduates from Alberta must have completed a minimum of 2-3 years of course in post-secondary institutions and needs to have a 34% minimum partnership in any Alberta business. This stream gives opportunities to qualified foreign graduates who are seeking permanent residency.

Farm Stream:
This stream is designed for entrepreneurs who desire to start a new business or acquire an existing farm in Alberta with farm management experience.

Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur stream:
In this stream, the candidate applying should have been graduated after the year 2012. This is an economic program for qualified graduates who reside outside Canada and want to start new businesses, start-ups, or innovative businesses in Alberta.

Key points to be noted for increasing the chances of getting a nomination

• Job offers in Alberta
• Graduation from an Alberta or another Canadian post-secondary institution
• A parent, child, brother, or sister who is a Canadian citizen or PR and who is living in Alberta
• First language – French

• The expiry timeline for the EE profile is five months
• The primary occupation which is in the Ineligible Occupation List of Alberta Opportunity Stream
• High volume submission in the pipeline with AAIP in your primary NOC
